Child abuse and neglect unfortunately happen in Nebraska.  Child care providers need to know about child abuse and neglect, how to make a report, ways to strengthen families, and how to prevent child abuse in their own child care programs.  This two-hour workshop was developed by the Early Childhood Training Center and meets the requirements of Nebraska State Statute 43-2606.

Objectives
Learn signs of child abuse and neglect
Know the process of reporting all suspected child abuse and neglect
Understand the Nebraska law for mandatory reporting
Learn ways to support and strengthen families
Comprehend the process when a provider/teacher is reported to the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline
Identify ways providers/teachers could be at risk of being perpetrators of abuse and neglect

Do you know how to reduce the risk of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and prevent accidental suffocation? Do you know the safest way to put a baby to sleep? Do you have a safe sleep policy? If you answered NO to any of these questions, this workshop is for you. The one-hour workshop was developed by the Early Childhood Training Center and meets the requirements of Nebraska State Statute 43-2606. Everyone is at risk of shaking a baby. When a baby is shaken, the shaking can cause brain damage, life changing disabilities, and even death. This is one childhood injury that is preventable. El taller de una hora fue desarrollado por el Centro de Capacitación para la Primera Infancia y cumple con los requisitos del Estatuto del Estado de Nebraska 43-2606. Todo el mundo corre el riesgo de sacudir a un bebé. Cuando se sacude a un bebé, la sacudida puede causar daño cerebral, discapacidades que cambian la vida e incluso la muerte. Esta es una lesión infantil que se puede prevenir.
