NOTICE: Registration is not considered complete until payment is received. The registration/payment deadline is one week before the workshop date. Refund Policy: Refunds are only provided when a registration is cancelled at least one week before the workshop date. Refunds must be requested in writing. No refunds will be issued for no-shows. Refunds will be provided if the Early Learning Connection cancels the class. Description

Child abuse and neglect unfortunately happen in Nebraska. Child care providers need to know about child abuse and neglect, how to make a report, ways to strengthen families, and how to prevent child abuse in their own child care programs. This two-hour workshop was developed by the Early Childhood Training Center and meets the requirements of Nebraska State Statute 43-2606.

Objectives
Learn signs of child abuse and neglect
Know the process of reporting all suspected child abuse and neglect
Understand the Nebraska law for mandatory reporting
Learn ways to support and strengthen families
Comprehend the process when a provider/teacher is reported to the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline
Identify ways providers/teachers could be at risk of being perpetrators of abuse and neglect
