Description | | This training will provide participants with an
understanding on social and emotional development and provide them with
concrete strategies to use with children. Participants will be trained on
self-regulation tools, strategies to emotionally connect with children, how to
utilize problem solving skills to support social development, and empathy
skills. Participants will reflect on their own struggles and how this gets in
the way of meeting children's emotional needs. Participants will learn
ways to help themselves regulate in the classroom.
Objectives:
-Participants will obtain knowledge on how prolonged stress impacts brain development, social
and emotional development, attachment, and behavioral responses.
-Participants will understand the importance of emotional connection and what this means
for children's regulation.
-Participants will learn specific strategies on how to respond to children in a brain-wise
way to support reduction in maladaptive behaviors and overall improved
emotional regulation
