Description | | Do you know how to reduce the risk of Sudden Unexpected
Infant Death (SUID) and prevent accidental suffocation? Do you know the safest
way to put a baby to sleep? Do you have a safe sleep policy? If you answered NO
to any of these questions, this workshop is for you. The one-hour workshop was
developed by the Early Childhood Training Center and meets the requirements of
Nebraska State Statute 43-2606. Everyone is at risk of shaking a baby. When a
baby is shaken, the shaking can cause brain damage, life changing disabilities,
and even death. This is one childhood injury that is preventable. This one-hour

Recite the four
components of Safe Sleep
Have resources to
develop a Safe Sleep Policy for an early childhood program

Trauma
Understand the
consequences of shaking a baby
List different
reasons a baby may be crying
Create a personal
plan to prevent Abusive Head Trauma
