NOTICE: Registration deadline is one week before workshop date. Participants will be notified of cancellations due to weather or other circumstances via the email they provided for registration. Registrant cancellations will be accepted until the registration deadline. A 100% credit will be given for use toward the registration fees for another Central Region Early Learning Connection sponsored workshop within the same grant year of the original workshop.

DescriptionDesafortunadamente, el abuso y la negligencia infantil ocurren en Nebraska. Las proveedoras de cuidado infantil necesitan saber sobre el abuso y la negligencia infantil, cómo hacer un informe, formas de fortalecer a las familias y cómo prevenir el abuso infantil en sus propios programas de cuidado infantil. Este taller de dos horas fue desarrollado por el Centro de Capacitación para la Primera Infancia y cumple con los requisitos del Estatuto del Estado de Nebraska 43-2606.

Child abuse and neglect unfortunately happen in Nebraska.  Child care providers need to know about child abuse and neglect, how to make a report, ways to strengthen families, and how to prevent child abuse in their own child care programs.  This two-hour workshop was developed by the Early Childhood Training Center and meets the requirements of Nebraska State Statute 43-2606.

Objectives
Learn signs of child abuse and neglect
Know the process of reporting all suspected child abuse and neglect
Understand the Nebraska law for mandatory reporting
Learn ways to support and strengthen families
Comprehend the process when a provider/teacher is reported to the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline
Identify ways providers/teachers could be at risk of being perpetrators of abuse and neglect
