Description | | Module 1 The
Business of Family Child Care
This is session one out of four in the Getting Down to
Business training series. Participants are introduced to family child care as a
business. Topics included in this session are licensing, budgets,
organizational strategies, record keeping, and professional development.
• Identify requirements of operating a family child care
home business
• Create budget strategies
• Demonstrate the importance of professionalism
• Predict record-keeping needs
Module 2 Getting
Down to Business: Child Development and Learning
This is session two out of four in the Getting Down to
Business training series. This session will focus on child development,
learning environments, and activities, schedules, routines, mixed-age groups,
and social/emotional/behavioral strategies.
• Understand how children develop
• Develop strategies which include all children in
programs
• Develop ways to support children's development
Module 3 Policies
and Procedures
This is session three out of four in the Getting Down to
Business training series. In this workshop participants create policies and
procedures for their family child care business which will include health and
safety policies, parent agreements, and operation policies.
• Develop your child care policies and procedures
• Articulate a personal philosophy of childcare
• Provide a program description
• Develop operating procedures
• Draft parent agreements
• Outline health policies
• Determine ways to share your policies and procedures
Module 4
Relationships in Family Child Care
This is session four out of four in the Getting Down to
Business training series. To be successful as a family child care business
there must be partnerships with families, open communication, and a family/work
balance for the provider.
• Explore the importance of relationships
• Develop strategies for building partnerships
• Examine our own professional goals
• Determine ways to manage our own needs |
