| Description | | Unfortunately, child abuse and neglect occur in Nebraska. Child care providers need to know about child abuse and neglect, how to make a report, ways to strengthen families, and how to prevent child abuse in their own child care programs. This two-hour workshop was developed by the Early Childhood Training Center and meets the requirements of Nebraska State Statute 43-2606.
Objectives
:
Learn the signs of child abuse and neglect
. Know the process for reporting all suspected child abuse and neglect.
Understand Nebraska law for mandatory reporting.
Learn ways to support and strengthen families.
Understand the process for reporting a provider/teacher to the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline.
Identify ways providers/teachers might be at risk for being perpetrators of abuse and neglect.

Key points to remember:
-Participant must have a working camera per participant, and audio capabilities.
-Participants who are not fully engaged, or have too many distractions, will not receive credit for the session.
