DescriptionJoin Kaiti George, Registered Dietitian at Hy-Vee and the University of Nebraska-Kearney, along with her junior and senior-level nutrition students, for a delicious food-themed workshop! They will showcase seven healthy, holiday-inspired snacks that you can incorporate into your child care program.

Objectives:
Incorporate All Food Groups Into Daily Menus
  Identify simple, creative ways to include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and dairy in meals and snacks served to children.

Apply Age-Appropriate Food Preparation Methods
  Use food preparation techniques that are safe, developmentally appropriate, and engaging for young children.

Implement New Recipes Confidently
  Reproduce the demonstrated recipes using available equipment and ingredients within their own childcare setting.

Enhance Mealtime Variety and Appeal
  Introduce new flavors, textures, and creative presentations to make healthy foods more appealing to children.
